Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Windows Live Mail was unable to locate it`s message database. If you`ve moved the database files to a new location.click OK to re set the database path to that location. Otherwise, click Cancel to proceed, any existing messages found will be avaible under Orphaned Accounts. (0x000000000, 2) -if I click OK it said : Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0x80070002) if i press cancel i get the same message Please help me get back my email !! many thank s in advance and any suggestions welcome |

Are you using Vista?
Do you mean Windows Mail or Windows Live? Check that your Mail folders are still there: Right Click on Computer and click on Explore. At the top click on Organize and Folder and Search Options. Click on the View tab and select Show Hidden Files and Folders, Apply and OK. Now go into Local Disk (C) Program Files Windows Mail and click on WinMail.exe, it might be that your shortcut has become corrupted. If it still wont open then go back the Local Disk (C), and open the following folders: Users "Your username" AppData Local Microsoft Windows Mail Local Folders and see if your mail is still there. If it is then I would copy the Local Folders, if you have space, simply right click on it click Copy and Paste it into your Documents, always good to have a back up in case you need to do a format. Could your computer have picked up a virus, or malware? Check using your anti virus software. Now that you know your folders are still accessable, but the WinMail.exe program isn't working, you can try to repair it, first by Error Checking. Close Explorer and open Computer. Where you see Local Disk C: right click and click on Properties. Click on the Tools tab and Error Checking Check Now button. After you have checked the disk and if Windows Mail still doesn't open try a System Restore. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore and select a date when you knew that Windows Mail was working. If none of these work, or you're not running Vista, please post back with more detailed information. |
