Default Hello - and Help!

Hi,

My name is Mo, and I am new to this forum! Just wanted to say hi to all of you, and looking forward to learning from this site. It looks great, and I am already excited.

I am a complete novice when it comes to the world of cable boxes.

Currently have cable with Virgin on a V+ box. Now thinking on getting an additional box, and reducing my current virgin package.

I am very confused, so your hep would be great!

I am looking for a box that has the following:
1. Decent quality picture
2. Decent recording funtions
3. Easy set-up and updates
4. Favourties & Channel rearraging set-up easy to do
5. EPG

And finally where to buy your recommended box from to avoid clones.

Thanking you all in advance for your help!

Firstly, welcome to the forums mate!

I could recommend plenty of boxes, but it depends on your budget really.

If you got a fair bit to spend, get either the Eurovox Ex7000 HD, which can record via usb, has favourite functions and channel re-arrange options too, or get the Kryptview dm800 hd, which is pretty much the same from what i hear, but seems to have slightly better support for when things do go wrong (not that either box should give you problems unless you are very unlucky).

If you don't want HD, could go for either the Starview 5 USB or Eurovox ex1100 USB, both of which support recording and again, channel list reordering with favourite groups etc.

I also hear the Kryptview a750 is very very good, but I am unsure whether or not this can record, so perhaps someone else could confirm that?

As for where to buy it though, there is no question in my opinion, to avoid clones, guaruntee the best service and save yourself a few quid, contact lincsat, a member on this forum, hes very reliable, very helpful and friendly and has never sold clones.

His customer service in my experience (having got my Eurovox 7000 hd from him) is excellent and the box came ready to go, didn't even need to flash the box!

IIRC, all Eurovox's now come with FTA only from linsat, so any f/w alterations need to be done by the customer.

PS. Welcome Mombi
