My mum has the same issue with an ACER Aspire 6920G. Maybe we need to install a driver compatible with Windows 7?

I can't see any option to enable/disable battery charging.

acer had a lot of problems with battery options and wireless when Vista first came out..

try searching google for related problems.. i'm sure more people would of found it.

I'm wondering if it's an ACPI driver we need which controls the battery. Maybe a Windows 7 driver is needed because I tried re-installing the Vista Ultimate x86 chipset driver and it didn't make a difference.
