Default Kinda a Question

My monitor compared with a brand new monitor that my friend got with his new comp, well my monitor is about 5 times as dark as his monitor... Is their a way to fix this or do any of you know the reason why i might be having this problem?

so from your post you are giving a clue that it's an old monitor you have? am i right? i think it's time to replace it. I don't see anyone fixing monitors or just pay for parts. others might have.

try some of these resources/outside readings as well:
