Default Noob Modem Help

My mates modem went down so i scanned some macs from my home ( were not on same UBR ) but when i went back to his and used the macs on the calculator i get too :

Haxorware
Version 1.1 Revision 30

Acquire Downstream Channel Done
Obtain Upstream Parameters Done
Upstream Ranging Done
Establish IP Connectivity .......

And it just holds there, i`v tried loads of Macs and from other UBR`s, some don`t get this far
His system is WindowsXP

Now i`v tried the same modem in my home with my Mac`s and it` works great.

Why won`t it work for my mate and why does it work with my mac`s i`v scanned from the same UBR ???

Only thing i can think of is the IP Connectivity ... i`am using Vista and it sorts this out by click on networks. On XP i`v tried repair for my mate but nothing happens.

Any suggestion would be really appreciated.

Could be i`v done something wrong ???

I`am using the said modem now as i type this so its working fine but not in my mates house.

Still to try the new ethernet card though so fingers crossed.

Ratcatcher i tried changing the BPI TO BPI+1.1 but again no joy.
