Default Starview 5 problems

Hi,

I have the above box and while watching a "pay channel" last night it went off saying no signal. I have tried switching it off and back on again and have checked all the connections but still nothing!!

Anybody know whats wrong with this is?

Thanks in advance

was it a film? probably was. you cant get ppv movies unless a near nieghbour pays for it. for some reason it comes to your box as well, like a wireless thing i guess. if they pause ,r/w etc so do you. when movie stops it says "no signal", because there is no signal!
if you mean sly spts etc, which i doubt, try menu, 1570, press default then exit to sly spts. then wait for update..
btw, you can get pay boxing for some reason.

As you may already know it's not just limited to PPV though, anything a neighbor orders/watches, even iPlayer, can be picked up on the other boxes (SV/KV/EV).

I quite often set my own subbed box to watch something over iplayer then switch over to the Eurovox 7000HD for the clearer picture delivery, perfect - provided no one touches my subbed box while I'm watching on the EV.

Also works for recording iPlayer content, since the VM boxes have some sort of content rights management on them which disallows recording to DVD recorders/other external recorders, perfect for catching up and watching in your own time.

You can indeed, as mentioned, if its being broadcast/streamed to a neighbour then you can pick up that stream on your box too, however, as boomer said, if they pause, rewind or fast-forward or even stop that 'stream', you'll lose it too.

If you are not getting the sly channels, try putting the box on sly sports 1 for 15minutes, it should come back on and then the rest of the channels you lost should be ok too.

Just to confirm, are you using the latest firmware and when was the last time you did a full scan?
