Default Hi, can someone possibly help please

Hi, I thought this was the best place to put my question so hopefully someone will be able to give me some help/advice.

My v****n broadband has worked fine since i had it but i recently installed windows 7 and now it doesnt work. has been working up till yesterday and now i cant get on, have phoned my broadband provider helpdesk, got me to do loads of stuff, type in things and the rest it twice but he said that the ip address i was getting and giving them was wrong and must have something to do with installing windows 7. i re-installed my vista os and internet works fine.

thought i should mention, when i first instaleld windows 7 i used driver genius to update drivers, any help please, dont know what to do, want to re-install windows 7 and get internet working.

thanks

no, not using usb. I have a router, but that also does not work now, so i am focusing on fixing my wired connection because i dont get fast enough speeds when downloading through wireless.

Hi,clone your nic mac to your router and that should at least get that to connect again.

Also before you reinstall Win7, go in the device manager of Vista and look what model LAN card you've got.

Then go and get the proper Win7 driver for it off the manufacturers website, instead of using driver genius.

No point cloning NIC MAC to router, there's no need of that, you can use any MAC...just reboot the modem when you go from having it wired to your NIC to the router instead.

install Everest Ultimate, this will tell you what hardware you have, and usually has links to drivers for the hardware, ie. your network cards

Yes, then you could install yet another program to advise you which of all these fecking driver management programs you already have installed.

Simply looking is underrated
