i-Smartsim SIM unlocker

Does anyone know anything about this SIM unlocker - its similar to the Rebel SIM unlocker which fits betwen the SIM card and the phone?

I've had a couple of them now to use an O2 SIM in an Orange phone. They work fine for a few months but then randomly stop unlocking the SIM and give an "emergency calls" only message.

When this occurs, checking the phone settings shows that the i-Smartsim seems to be reverting to Vodafone Live.de (Germany) settings - presumably this is something to do with how the i-Smartsim was initially programmed

So is there any way to get the thing to work again, or any way to reprogramme it?

And what actually causes it to stop working - does the network send a signal to reset it or something?
