Hi guys,
I spoke to them again and they have suggested putting a top spec LNB at a cost of approx £200 which will increase the effect of my dish by 10-20cm, this is something to do with the noise???? What do you think? Ian |

Hi Martin, can you get slovak channels Markiza, Doma, STV 1/2/3 etc.? If so then a bigger dish doesn't makes sense, as you are theoretically further away and have a smaller dish?
I don't want a bigger dish, it's big enough already :-( |

i dont open them m8 as i dont have a sub but yes i do pick them up
i only have a cheap lnb and a 1mtr dish so i don't think spending £200 on a lnb will solve the problem but i maybe wrong Quote:

Can I make a suggestion before our OP starts spending money on a bigger dish - most of the Czech/Slovak channels are also available on 19E, as part of the UPC package. It might be worth investigating a slovak upc subscription instead -
or even try the existing card in the hope it decrypts the channels!

it's not the card, I received slovak radio for free but now I can't get signal there either. What I dont understand is how I can receive other channels on 3A at 97% but just not on 12565H, is there something with this frequency that my box or dish doesn't like?

no m8 what Analoguesat is saying that thease channels can be picked up on 19e as that sat is easy to get in the uk and your card may decrypt them on 19e tune to that sat and give it a go

Quote:
The Astra 3A signal is marginal at best in the UK, and its quite likely to be influenced by things like bad weather at your location. There are 3 satellites co-located at 23.5E - Astra 1E 1G and 3A Their transmission coverage zones are vastly different - 1E and 1G are high power birds with pan European coverage. 3A is a low power bird with a spotbeam bullseyed on Germany. Therefore you will get 1E & 1G channels - (ie the Dutch regional channels) on a minidish easily in the UK. 3A is a completely different beastie. If you are indeed getting the other channels on 3A with good signal then you may have problems with local interference.
