That's the Upgrade tools - RS232 loader.
The MAX V has not been made for a long time, the EX5100 is closest to it.

Hi Guys
Wonder if anyone can help, I have the old es1000sl with no problems. I bought the new ex1100 a couple of days ago and downloaded the firmware from bigmaq toolbar. I have tried both the sept one and the beta for epg problem. Once one of these is loaded and I do a power scan it doesn't find any channels! It just display the sat symbol and says no signal. Before doing a power scan do I need to change any other settings? Do I need to do a deep scan instead? I live in the Teesside Area in PURE/NTL area (Stockton-on-Tees) Any help would be great as I think I may have bought the wrong box this time! |

Flashed my box this morning, there's a definate improvement with the EPG.
It loads much faster and on a lot more channels, definately a step in the right direction. |

Fed up.
Doesn't work for me. EPG much worse, have to stay on each transponder for ages, then it doesnt load it all in, only partial info and sometimes corrupts the info into gobbledigook before crashing and switching off! Box is freezing even more now. This box is impossible to use as a PVR to set the timer becoz unless you are on the exact transponder that you want to record all the time the epg goes out of date. Tried the first beta but then get the slot0-slot1 error constantly so that's no good. Have reverted back to the last version now to at least see some telly but it still freezes and crashes. then when it crashes I have to spend 10 minutes visiting each transponder one by one to load a bit of epg in! Still missing epg for lots of channels eg. FIVE, Discovery Realtime and a few others. am in Pure n*l area. Fed up now, flashing/unflashing/scanning/factory default/setting favs over and over and over again. None of my mates have to do this with their boxes (MaxV and EX1000). I've given this box the big benefit of the doubt when I shouldn't have to. Seriously wish I'd never bought this pile of s**t now. I've asked the seller to swap it for an EX1000 (which my mate has and it is a million times better) but it is discontinued apparently, typical why do the older models work and this one doesn't? |

I’m not really sure what’s happened to the 1100 and 5100 models recently, they seem to have taken a step backward from the previous 1000,5000, IMO.
Support and software releases were normally prompt and vast improvements. How come they release a box what is not working correctly, I bought a carton of 1100’s and 6 have come back due to reboots/No EPG, etc, etc. Is there qualified people working on these boxes or are all bugs left to Lincsat to sort out. Better keep the VerminMedia Phone No handy just in case they have Key change as I’ll probably have to subscribe if this is anything to go by…… LOL’s Should have bough the Starview’s I guess as there cheaper and more reliable. |

I'm not anything to do with the firmware, I just find it, post it and encourage feedback. I'm told the developers monitor this forum so I make sure they have the information they need.

Lincsat, do you know if there will be another beta out soon or should I give up on this box? Last edited by zx6r; 11-11-09 at 02:44 PM. |
