EX1100 Beta Firmware

Hi all.

Got to agree with YorkshireBoy here. I asked the guy I bought both my 1100 and 6000 from and he said it is definately discontinued no one is buying it anymore including him and he got that from the horses mouth.

He said the bloke he buys from is the importer directly in the North of England Indian chap, and he told him the engineers can't fix it so they are bringing out a new mini-box at Christmas but it is still the same thing but different size. Is this trying to take people for idiots?

TBH since 2007 a new eurovox was never released without working epg ever, up until the 1100 that didnt work.

Why are they still trying to fix it after 3 months (and probly 6 months R&D) when their older boxes worked fine. Or is it that the 1100 is not a genuine box from the proper teams as I (and most others) now think.

@Lincsat... so how long have we got to wait? How close is it to being fixed? You obviously know something that we all don't so spill the beans mate

And what is this other box coming out? The bloke I spoke to said it was a special christmas edition or something like that. I have nown the guy a long time so I have no reason to doubt his word. Thats what I think.

I spoke to the chap from skywonder, the owner who goes by the name of steve or preets i think. he said that they are bringing the ex1000 sl back in stock as the ex1100 usb has been a major problem to fix. I dont honestly know what to make of this, but it looks like they maybe scrapping the ex1100 usb all together due to the **** software support.

He also said that a new scart type cable tuner device is releasing in a few days also. I recall him calling it a scart cable adapter. They are made by the same manufacturer as the ex1100 usb and the ex1000 sl.

I personally wont buy anything from that same factory that makes the ex1100 usb.

My information is that there will be a single batch of EX1000 as the factory still has components and there is a demand. The EX1100 is definitely still in production (or at least it was last week) as a new batch is due in the UK next week.

I have spoken to someone that I trust who says he's seen 4 different test firmwares in the last week. I too would have liked to see the EPG fixed much quicker, but at the end of the day, the EPG is gravy - we all know what the main purpose of the boxes is

I seriously doubt there is a "team" working on this, more like a single Korean trying to figure out what is non-standard about the VM signal, remember that VM cable is made up of 3 different main networks and they are made up of smaller networks and not one of them complies with the DVB standard 100%.

I was allowed to try a new firmware today and i mus say there was no problem with any flickering or freezing or the slot problem. But yes there is a but the EPG still is not fixed but does show signs of actually getting there. People who have tried the Beta firmware remember to make sure you Actually set your clock to the right time or else it gives the EPG no chance of working.

They say on the eurovox dot co dot kr that the ex1000 has been discontinued and to be aware of ex1000 clones.

Now they find some spare parts in the factory to make 1000 ex1000 boxes. They must think the uk is full of idiots.

By re-introducing the ex1000 they are confusing the public.

Lincast, this is just not right mate. It would be right to say it if there was no box out there with working EPG, but for gods sake every box has had working epg since 2007!

Yea, well all the other boxes manage it.

And now what we have learned is that the maker of the 1100 don't have a team any more, they have one junior programmer trying to figure it all out.... what happened to all the other programmers who made the epg on the 1000,MaxV etc.... I may not be technically minded but surely why don't they just look at how they did it before or look at their old programs.....what's going on there? where have they gone? The 6000-Revolution can do it and thats a new box.

And now we learn that they have stuffed the 1100 up us for 3 months and now it is abandoned and they are going to now "un-discontinue" the EX1000 and try to stuff that up us too because they can't get the 1100 working properly...shocking!

I am not very happy. I wasted my money on that and I was fed Bull that it was going to be fixed/just be patient/keep buying it/ etc etc, only to find that now they have sold a few thousand and conned us out of our money they are dropping it and resurrecting an old box from last year that has been cloned to death!

So, the "official" (laughable now) Eurovox website says "Discontinued" for the EX1000, and that any out there will be clones... My God, will they be editing that any day soon to make it look a bit more kosher?

Yea right..... A korean warehouse guy just happened to move a box in the warehouse and lo and behold finds 1000 spare cases without the USB slot cut into them, 1000 old style EX1000 printed cardboard boxes, 1000 old style instruction manuals.... I mean come on... think about what they are feeding us here.

The truth is they released a crap box and they can't fix it. So how do they get out of it? By dumping it (and everyone else who bought it, including the dealers) and they re-release an old box. I mean, it aint even got USB on it, let alone component !

I read a thread on afterdawn where it lists the name of the manufacturer. It is a very good thread and very informative, and actually gives you many "a-ha" moments.

My personal opinion is this:

1. EPG is important, and is a given. All other boxes can do it so buy one that works.

2. The 1100 is coming to a very sticky end.

3. Don't trust this manufacturer with one junior programmer.

4. Don't buy anything else from this manufacturer because clearly they a). can't built decent boxes, b). Don't care who they f*ck.

Sorry but I am angry that I bought the 1100, angry that I was told it would be fixed, angry that it won't be fixed, angry that is has been dropped, angry that I ACTUALLY WANTED the EX1000 in the first place but was sent the 1100 without me asking because the EX1000 was "discontinued", and angry for all those who (like me) bought one.

And to top it all my team lost yesterday! AND I got a hangover...LOL

where can i find this new firmware my box freezs all the time and i get the slot problem alot
