Default Pace 4001:- Reconditioned BOX

I have a re-conditioned pace 4001 with the Virmin logo on the front flap, and a nicely reconditioned board inside...
New caps have been fitted to it that had previously caused the TUNE fault on that particular board, and its so nice and shiney inside..
The problem is that when I goto the EM, the page with the pin in it, usually has an option to adjust the attenuation @ the top from high to low...BUT, with the one I have, the word OFF is present, and when you goto adjust it, YOU CANT!
Hence Im getting a TUNE fault!
Has anyone came accross this attenuation 'OFF' B4?
I have done loads of these pace boxes B4, & this is the first time I've came accross this.
Does anyone think that Virmin are getting wise to our trix, as when I tryed to unloop the orig card (ROM11), it had a fake BK--6d56 etc..?
Any and all advice/thoughts more than welcome
Regards, Beatbox

Attenuation refers the output signal level of the old RF jack on the back of the box. Some boxes don't allow you to change it, (think -N vs -NC models) but if you're having signal problems it's not due to this
