Default erasing MX 29lv160b with willem 4.5

Hi,

I have the willem 4.5 with built in adaptor and i cant seem to get an erase on the chips, .it seems to do as it says in the guide, it gets to about 8% and cuts out and i do that about 5 times but when i do a blank test it says 'device is not empty $000000' i dont think that is correct ?...can you just confirm what jumpers i NEED to have on..i am using willem 0.97g...or anything else i may be missing, if i go on to write a dump to the chip it seems to do it ok but i dont want to solder it in just yet as i think it should erase first.

clean and bend the legs again.

you can id a chip fine but it wont erase/program if its got flux under the legs

I dont think thats the problem as these are brand new chips and i have tried several of them, i can read, write, and ID them fine...just the erase is returning this result, could it just be a false positive ? ie if i write the chip and says all is well will it be ok ?

if there brand new chips, why do you need to blank them?

if you click on blank test and it starts, it will usually complete the test and be blank.

I thought that...though i am only following a guide and it states to erase, which it does do, then it says perform a blank test, i would assume i am looking for that to tell me the chip is blank but it does not say that...is thats just an abnormaility that can be overlooked ?
