igot windows 7 put on my laptop several weeks ago and now i've just tried to watch a dvd and no matter what i do i can't get to play. any one got some ideas? reset all my settings still no joy.

What happens when you put a DVD in the drive? It could be that you don't have the DVD codecs
|

Yes, it' a codec issue. I downloaded and installed the K-Lite codec pack to convert some films and it let me watch DVDs using Windows Media Player.
