Default vm cable modem x 2

Ok here goes.
I have one vm top box and modem downstairs, have recently added an extra top box up stairs, installed by virgin.
Can i run another cable modem via a f2 splitter from the newly installed set top box upstairs,as i wish to run an xbox 360,and another modem connected to xbox via ethernet would be great.
The modem was originally registered to my home address ,but not used in a long time. Can i use it up stairs, along side my other cable modem downstairs.

thanks

You'll need to check your present signal levels. If they are all good then you can do as you suggest. If your signal levels are already marginal then it would be unwise to split the cable.

Dont put the modem online until you've flashed it with "alternative" firmware and changed the MAC. You may of had it in storage for a long while but its probably still registered to that address.

A Blackcat JTag will allow you to flash this modem mate. I think it's best to use a shelled firmware on these as it runs more stable that way.
