Up to 8Mb* BT Broadband should provide you with a noticeably faster download speed and the ability to use multiple services more efficiently across your BT Broadband connection.
8Mb broadband (8Mbits/s) is approximately 160 times faster than standard dial-up internet (0.05Mbit/s), and 4 times faster than our current fastest broadband service (2Mbit/s). Using multiple devices The main benefit of a faster broadband is the ability of your connection to maintain greater quality when running multiple tasks simultaneously and 'new wave' internet services like BT Broadband Talk (making cheap voice calls over the internet), BT Fusion and BT Vision BT's new digital television service. The speed difference If you regrade to the faster service, the difference in speed will be most noticeable when you're using your broadband connection for high bandwidth tasks and applications such as: ![]()
