I have tried this and the Ps3 never picks up my laptop, mobile, etc. Only thing BT seems to be for on the ps3 is mics and other basic things.
You can set you ps3 up with your laptop though. I transfer video via my router, and now the ps3 plays avi files, no need to convert anymore!! Takes about 5-10 mins for a 700mb film to transfer to the ps3, or you can just stream it. Have you done this? If you need help with this let me know.
