Default Connection Question for new system

Hi There
I have recently decorated a room with a home cinema set up in mind, all cablling for speakers are behind skirting as is a power cable and an HDMI cable which run from the power socket where the kit is to be located and emerging out of a hole in the wall where I shall site the screen.

What I intend to do is have all sound going through a home cinema system. is the following the correct optimum method bearing in mind I only have an HDMI precabled to the television position:

  • Connect cable(V+) box to televion via the HDMI for Picture
  • Connect cable box to DVD home cinema unit via scart
  • Use Home cinema system on AUX(TV) for sound

Any help or improvements would be welcome
Thanks

I don't see anything wrong with how you intend to connect everything. Keeping it simple is always a good start. Just to be sure though post up the make and model numbers of the equipment.

I'm not familiar with the cable box scene but if it has an optical O/P then use that to connect to the surround sound amp, if not then leave as is and you are good to go. If I'm wrong then someone will correct me quick enough. Happy viewing.
