I have a genuine starview 1 which has worked faultlessly for the last 3 years.
Now it has developed a problem with the souns as there is always a Hissing noise in the background. This is on any channel and even if you have something like the menu up and no channel at all the hiss is still there. It is connected via scart lead which i have changed with no difference. Anything else that runs off the scarts is fine so im ruling out the TV. Any suggestions? |

Does look like its a new box needed. Whatever TV ,scart lead i use it is still there. Even found a phono lead and tried that and its still there so i can only presume the sound chip is going.

To get back sound on e4 sky1 ect just select the channel in question press menu,
select installation, select manual scan, click ok on down frequency. It'll now scan for channels when its finished exit back to normal tv viewing screen go to the end of your channel listing and the desired channel will be there with sound. This can be done on any channel with no sound by just selecting that channel following the instructions above. Hope this helps |

No that is not the problem at all.
I have sound on all channels but with a loud background hiss to go with them. This loud hiss is even there when you select the menus etc so is not related to any channel. |

Yes done the volumes on both remotes.
It depends what your watching, if its something like football you dont notice it at all but if its something with people just talking it is quite loud in the background. |

Ok sorry didn't read your post correctly.
This type of thing can occur by use of energy saving light bulbs, they can cause all types of interference. Do you have any in the vicinity ? |
