Can you update Ditv 1000 Phase 1b from cr2 to cr3/3.7 ?

Is there a way that you can update an old Pace Ditv 1000 Phase 1b from cr2 to cr3 or whatever the latest software version available or this old dinosaur?

If so then how?


I am in ex C&W area.

open the box and pull the red jumper for 30 sec the plce it can the boot to EM and st you freq and pin and connect the power and feed do the funcard for your net id insert the card when your in the EM (page 2) the box should reboot and start updating jut let it do so till you see channel 999 on tv, then make your viewing card tune to bb1 insert the card and wait 5 to 15 minutes for the keys to update and there you go m8.

unless the box has had a "no update" mod done to it,then you will have to reverse the mod and then the post above is a go-er

Ok, Pulled the red jumper out.

Changed the networkID from 09999 to my own with the funcard.

The box rebooted and tried to update but didnt finish and went back to BBC1 without updating.

Tried the force update (4321 trick) which came up with a screen saying

"Platform found" and "not for this hardware".... something along these lines.

Has this been modded not to update.

I thought only Ditv 1000 were done "the two chip mod". This Ditv 1000 Phase 1b has space for only two chips on simm.

What kind of mod has been done to this box?

Is it reverseable?

let me knwo if you get it to update, i have a graveyard full of phase 1bs which wont update!

try a 4 chip simm in the stb this should help it update to 3.7

unless the mod is a wire cominmg to the battery to pin 11 i think or is that the one thats bin lifted

I thought the 4 chip simm was for Ditv 1000. Also I dont have a 4 chip simm.

UPDATE :

This is the picture which sparky52 uploaded of a Ditv 1000 Phase 1b which has a mod done to it.



And this is what i have under my Pace circuit board.



So there is no sign of any mod.

This is what the simm looks like. Is there anything missing or suspicious?




This is a close picture of ATML.



Next to the two ATML, there are two gaps which are labelled "U2101" and "U2100". Are they suppose to be empty?

Any ideas? Or shall I dump it in G77's graveyard because thats where all the elephants go.

Any Update? I got hold of one of these elephant and having same problem. I have dumped my 4000T as it doesn't work any more in C&W.

Unfortunately there is no way to update these buggers.
