Check for updates on your laptops manufacturers website, make sure you get the correct updates for your model, also check if Windows 7 updates has any new drivers, and software.

That's your problem, 64 bit operating systems always have problems with drivers, you might not even be able to get the updates drivers for your laptop.
I have also merged your two threads, on the same subject.
You might want to go back to Vista Home premium, as the key details should be on your laptop, check for a Windows sticker, so all you require is a Vista Home premium disk.

The easiest, and probably quickest, is to check if your friends have a DVD you can borrow, most laptops, and PC's, sold over the last couple of years came with Vista Home Premium, either borrow one or even copy it.
If not you should be able to download one, from an illegal site, try a google search.
Or go back to the shop, that messed all this up, and ask for them to lend you a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium.
