anyone know how to start using a universal remote control, i have the remote with no instructions, i am pretty sure there is a code to key in to the tv, the tv is just an ordinary goodmans.

Most makes of universal remotes are programmed differently.
As a pointer, many makes of TV (including some Goodmans) respond to codes for Philips TVs.

a few goodman tv codes for you to try, 0067, 0139, 0143, 0154, 0196, 0266, 0115, 0129, 0017, 0164

have a go with them, i got another tv/remote code book kicking around somewere too will try dig it out later, or with most universal remotes they will auto find the codes for you, (best to refer to remotes manual) with mine i select the device you need to control on remote, holding that button and mute for 3 seconds untill led lights up the press power or channel and wait for tv to turn off/over then quickly hit power/channel to stop the scan.
