Move house so you are nearer the exchange.
Ensure you have a good connection between the phone socket and the router - interference on an phone extension cable can cause all sorts of problems. Use a wired ethernet connection.

hi i recently set up wireless connections for my g f and her mum .they live appox ten min s away from each other but my g f s internet speed is appox 9.5 while my g f s mum is only 2.5...both on the same virgin package .both from the same exchange...was wonderin wat other effect s have an affect on download speed /internet speed

i use wireless as well and i always get good speeds, one thing i did notice was if you have a password for you wireless internet connection that is numbers and letters it would be like 1-2mb slower for some reason, but if you have a all number password you get better speeds. also put the router in a high place and as close to the center of the room as possible.

i get around 1.6 MB/s on speed test i have had it up to 2.7 MB/s using slingbox

hi, have just been advised the g f s mother shud phone virgin and get them either to boost or reduce the signal to her house,,,,,as she is payin for the 10 mgb s and only gettin 2.5...unless any one has any other suggestions???
