Default sky broadband problem

i have sky broadband and every so often the internet connection just turns off on its own and doesnt turn back on for hours. When I go out to check the router the i is not lit which is only lit when the is not an internet connection. Even when the router gets turned off when the internet connection is ok, when turned back on it takes hours for an internet connection to come back. Have tried changing filters but dont think thats whats wrong. Even if you do what everyone says which is turn it off for 30 seconds and turn it back i know its going to be hours until it comes back on. I havnt seen anyone with this problem, strange but i think it may be the router. Anyone?

first thing i would do is speak to BT (i assume they look after your line) or get in touch with Sky. I'm almost 100% certain it'll be a problem with the line? are you far from the exchange? when it works, what speeds are you getting?

adverts offer the 'UP TO' the advertised speed. Very rarely do customers get what is being advertised. One main thing is distance from the exchange. I would still contact whoever is in charge of your line (i think sky take charge of it) and get them to do line tests buddy
