You can put xp on a mac although I think you will need access to the mac software to begin with as you need to partition the drive:

If you take it to an Apple store they'll reset the password using an OS X boot disc, and set up Boot camp for you so that you can install Windows XP.
Assuming that it's not stolen, of course. |

I've just used Boot Camp myself - the big kicker is that you absolutely must choose "Format to NTFS (Quick) during set up, otherwise you end up in an install loop.
