Hello

Everytime I start up my laptop the mouse doesnt respond it just stays still, I have to turn the laptop off and on about several times for it to respond, does anyone know why it does this, and if there is a soloution into fixing it?

Be very grateful for any help.

EDIT!

When i say laptop mouse, i mean the actual pad, not an external mouse the actual pad on the laptop..

Have you checked the manufacturers website for any updates, or known problems?

Hvae a look at any driver updates for your laptop model, they're usually easy to find by visiting the manufacturers website and typing in your laptop's serial number, or make and modwl number.
Also try booting up in safe mode and see if the mouse works, if it does then it's probably a driver or software problem.

i have downloaded a driver, i will try it, how do i boot in safe mode if it does not work?

Usually if you press the F8 key, on your keyboard, at boot up you get the option of booting in Safe Mode, if that doesn't work try going to Start, Run and type msconfig click on the boot tab and select safe mode, your laptop should then start in safe mode when you restart.

Try control panel> Mouse>Settings

check the pointing device (possibly synaptics) is enabled

it may have disabled itself...think this might be a registry problem not an asus by any chance is it?

common problem with Gericom and msi laptops ktp3 drivers disconect from power remove battery for a few min usualy fixs problem.
