Default NO lights at all on the sb5001 IS it bricked?

Hi All

Your help is needed.

4 lights come on when I switch on the sb5001i ,but only last for a second or two

then they ALL go out and there are NO lights at all on the sb5001.

The flash is detected by schwarzekatze and SB5100-2.3.1.6-SCM01-FATSH.bin is the firmware currently on it.

I've flashed various 2mb dumps too many times now but still no lights and stilll no config page!!!

Any help is greatly appreciated I'm at a loss...

It looks like it yes, I think I have a 2MB dump of the latest SB5100MOD at home. PM me your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

Hi blakey I've PM'd my email address but will flashing it yet again get the modem & lights back working?...

I've flashed it about 10 timess already, however when flashing blackcat reports that verification failed.

Everytime I've just unticked verify written data and continued...Is this the correct thing to do?!!

thanks

Hi weebz,

Do you mean use SIGMAX-BL_v2.6-LITE to flash the bootloader first then
go back to the "Flash" tab and press "write all" and flash the 2mb called "SB51002.3.1.6SCM01-FATSH[telnet].bin"

thanks

It is a 5100 and not a 5101 right?

Make sure you have verify writes enabled when you flash it with blackcat

Edit, ok i see you disabled verification...it's not writing properly to the flash. I bricked one that well once lmao.

If you detect the flash a few times quickly you'll probably see the content of the HEX window keeps changing.

Turn verification back on. Set it to write the 2mb dump, when it reaches the point it fails verification, power cycle the modem between write retries. If it fails again, power cycle the modem at varying points during the write/retry cycle...one reboot a cycle.

It'll take a few goes, maybe even 10-15 but eventually it will verify and carry on writing the bootloader. I think it happens when you screw up the original flash really early in the bootloader segment of flash.

Either that or the flash chip has bad solder joints but unlikely unless you spilled something on it / stood on it.

Hi Sr21

I cannot get this to work I have turned the modem off on on again over 100 times.

Sometimes it continues to flash the TSOP but most of the time it still reports that data verification failed.

after a few failures the continue or end box pops up...and you have to press end and start all over again.

what am I doing wrong???

blackcat wont flash with the verify written data option ticked

it reports that data verification failed...I can only flash TSOP with it unticked
and I then get no lights on the modem -not eve the power light!
