RROD Strange error - No Lights!

Picked up a faulty 360 the other day with rrod.

When I took it apart looks like someone has had a go at botching it up and then just gave up.

Ive had a go at repairing it myself and its doing all sorts of things.
The power light will come on and sometimes get 3 red rings, other times 2 and sometimes even none!

And the odd time if I turn it on from the controller I will get 1 green light to say its connected but the green lighs wont circle to say its working.

Anybody got any ideas?
Or do I just need to try again with the xclamp fix?

Try again failing that bin it, person who did it first might have had no idea and bodged it

Nice lol

Well just had another go now and am getting no lights again other than the power light.

Its weird tho coz if I press the sync button the green lights circle and will let me connect with the controller.

So it seems as if it is doing something.

Has anybody seen anything like this before is it just me?

What's the secondary error?

When I eventually get the three red lights and can check the error code im getting 0102 which I understand is to do with the gpu. I see you have done a few 360's with no problems Danielle is there any chance you could point me to the tut you used for the xclamp fix. Im in the middle of my third attempt at fixing it now lol

Bang the kit all together nowt much to that the important bit is you burn it in, once kit fitted stick the board back in the bottom case ( dont worry about screws) plug the fans in and rest on top of the cpu /gpu (takes a little messing to balance them) then run it for 15 mins, let it cool 15mins then recheck the screws are tight and it should be ok fingers crossed. That's the way I do them

Rite now im stuck. I believe I have finally fixed the RROD error as no more lights. But it still doesnt work properly lol. When I plug it in to a tv and power it up I get a quick flash of something but then just a black screen. And no lights at all on the console just the power light.
It looks like it is trying to load but doesnt work properly. Anybody seen this b4?
I no this may be a daft question but not 100% up on 360's but it wouldnt have anything to do with the dvd drive would it? It is flashed.
