Default 19.2 and 28 degees Too greedy??

Hello all,
I'm hoping someone out there can help me with this, I'm using a Technomate TM-6900 HD Combo super receiving from a 65cm Hirschmann dish with the supplied Technomate 0.2db LNB. I have it set up on the Astra 1 aray at 19.2 degrees because I want to receive German and French TV. As far as it goes, no problem. I have excellent reception of about 50 German channels including 3 or 4 HD channels. Great picture (except DSF) and a signal quality of around 75% or better. If i do the scan on Astra 2 it shows all the UK chanells with signal quality of 60+% but no picture and no sound. Is that a signal or not? Will I need to motorise or use a second LNB?

Hi,

You can only receive from one satellite with your current setup.

Yes, you will either need to motorise to pick up 28E as well, or add a 2nd LNB. It should be possible on a 65cm dish.

Hi
I am replying to this question from Satster and will raise another thread from me for a similar request for info

by saying that as a result of help from Robbo and Southern Satellites, I recently fitted my own Monoblock to pick up 19.2 AND 13.0 in order to enjoy the digital transmissions from Germany and France. The advice was first class.I now also get my former analogue channels from Germany in great digital signal (around 70 to 80%)(and DSF is OK!)but also pick up lots of other channels from Italian and arabic channels on Hotbird.
I had to slightly tweak the line up of the monoblock to get better reception from both sats.
So whether this is also possible for you to get 28 (i.e by fitting a Monoblock and tweaking the angle ) I leave to the experts here.
My thread coming up will be that very question!

That's not possible with the current monoblocks on the market.
The vast majority of monoblocks on the market still are 6° monoblocks, which are mainly used for 13° and 19°.
There are 3° monoblocks for 13° and 16°.
The latest monoblock is the 4.3°(AKA the Duo LNB),which caters for mainly for the Dutch viewers wanting both,19° and 23.5° or for viewers wanting 9°and 13°.
The spread (9°),is far greater for both 19° and 28°,it requires single lnbs,on a multibracket,on an appropriate sized dish.(80cm or above),as a minimum,or you could opt for the new Visiosat Bisat dishes

Another dish to look at if you are below Birmingham is the Technisat Multitenne, this is 45cm square and has an LNB that can receive, 28.2, 23.5, 19.2 and 13 satellites, works really well, but don't ask me how for such a small dish! See here: TechniSat Multytenne Satellite Dish

Thanks to both for the info on the bisat and multytenne which seem too good to be true
4 Sats on one dish with a location difference of something like 15 deg!!
Probably need a motor?

No the multitenne works really well, but you have to be South of Birmingham

Note that the Visiosat Bisat dishes are far more expensive, than most dishes on the market,as are the multi-brackets.
