I have one of these boxes but the remote control will only work up to about 6cm away from the box.

Is it possible to take the lid off and fiddle with something to get it to work? It was fine but when it came back from being in the boot it seems to of buggered it,

Anyone have any ideas?

This may sound simple but maybe the batteries in the remote are going dead?

energy saveing light bulbs can interfere with the ir signal. also sounds daft but is true i have seen a samsung tv stop the cable remote working, when the tv was switched off the cable remote would work and when on it wouldnt. but as above probably the batterys

if you go into Engineers Menu and scroll thru pages to u see Infra i think it is, this will be disabled most likly if the remote isnt working, enable it and reboot box, should be fine then ive done this a few times

Cheers guys, its not the remote as i have tried several. the IR must be on as it works up to about 6cm away
