i will have to give the buyer a discount since hdmi doesnt work for them.
i think the buyer would most likely want a total refund m8 because he would of only brought the box to use the hdmi

Yes there must be...
If HDMI cable is not working or sounds faulty on a HD box.. dorh. He cant even use it for BBC HD I would have returned to orginal supplier, having bought a box that you said had only been in use for a week.

I don't think it;s a TV option as mine works perfectly.

It bugs me when people dont read the initial problem properly.....The HDMI on this fellas box works fine on another TV (19 inch Samsung), it just dosnt work on the guy that bought its 'SONY TV' via HDMI.....SEE THE FIRST POST.

So obviously if it works fine with other tv's via HDMI.....and only problem is when connected to the Sony then the box itself is obviously fine & the problem is likely to be something to do with the Sony, probably just a setting.

The component (ypbpr) input fully supports 1080p (including 1080i, 720p etc) and technically as such HD output would still be achievable via this method.
