twin lnb only one tuner.

can the signal from a twin lnb be sent from both cables then joined down 1 cable then split again into 2 cables at back of stb. effectively allowing me to use twin pvr.

i have twin tuner pvr but only 1 cable run down internal wall to stb.

As its only one cable internally,you could use the LNB loopthrough on the pvr(which make/model is it?)
You need to make or purchase a short loopthrough cable and connect from Tuner 1 ouput to tuner 2 input.
This will restrict when recording,but will mean you can watch and record,at the same time,as long its on the same transponder.

its the toppy 7710.

im poss going freesat or freeview hd next year. its for the ease of series record and the epg recording etc. the toppy is so clunky for those reasons.

not to say its not a good box for the cam/hobby type side of it.

i will just use on a single tuner.

can 2 motors be run of 1 diseq switch?

It can be done but not easily or cheaply. You require a module to upconvert one of the lnb's outputs (effectively frequency double) to move it away from the other lnb's output. At the other end you'll require a downconverter to take things back to normal. The module will also have to handle the polorisation (V/H) of the 2nd lnb by some form of signal changing.

Short answer is, its probably not worth it. Just replace the co-ax you have now with dual.

Just follow the instructions on page 12 & 13 of the Topfield 7710PVR's manual,to use the loopthrough method,as I posted earlier.
I've used this method with other Topfield twin tuner pvr's(TF4000PVR & TF5510PVR),in the past.
