Unhappy Starview 2 the box expert advice needed

Hi,

I know there is loads of threads on this subject but i've yet to find an answer to my problem. I'm relatively advanced with channel codes & have just flashed my box with 4.57 on a GT rom V1.03. I cannot seem to get the full complement of channels you would expect with this box. It was working ok ish, loosing channels now & again for a month or 2 thats why I flashed it. I have factory reset umpteen times and flopped the codes in & out many times without success. I have a eurovox in my other room & used the frequencies off that to manually search for missing SS*,Disn and a few more. When i manually scan it still doesn't pick up the missing channels yet it finds all others. What i have noticed between scans is a different amount of channels it finds, it can be from 2 hundred & odd to 380 odd. I tried my Eurovox using the same cable & it worked fine.

I'm out of ideas and would appreciate some wisdom on this please

Thx for the help,

Tried what you suggested but exactly the same 388 channels found but several key channels are missing. I noticed that SS* is on freq, 730.750 same as National G & others but the latter all work. Eurovox has SS* on freq, 731.000 but my Sv 2 wont pick up SS* on that frequency. There are several other channels that dont work & all are slightly out of freq compared to the Eurovox.

I'm not in a desperate situation or being greedy because I have something for nothing anyway but this is bugging me. I can usually get them working one way or another but this has me foxed.

Thx for the advice m8,

I ve tried that & vice-versa. The Eurovox picks up everything on the Starview cable but the Starview misses the same PPV channels on the Eurovox cable. All points to the Starview box is my first thought but then it picks up all the other channels so the tuner must be ok. I've been at it again this morning without success. The frequency on EV that i'm after is 731.000, when i manually tune this into my SV its says found 11 channels but SS* & 6 others aren't in the list of channels found. When i navigate to SS* it still shows the frequency at 731.750.

All help is most certainly welcome.

Hello Mate,
you have probably already checked this, but i remember having a similar issue to you when i set my box up, the channels were there but not under the correct names, e.g. ss2 i think it was came in as tv409 or some such rubbish, i had to manually go through and check each channel that had weird names to see if it was one of my missing ones. Thats my 2pence worth, hope its of some help.

Thx for all your ideas.
I tried searching through all the channels without success. Found a load of new adult channels though . I factory reset it this morning again direct from the main feed into the house without success. I dont know anyone with a SVB nearby but would appreciate a channel dump form anyone in the Manchester area. Daft idea here but could I connect my SVB to my EVB to transfer channel frequencies?

Thanks once again for all your ideas...keep em comin!

Have you tried searching all the providers?
I done a starview 5 for someone in manchester a couple of weeks ago and had to scan on TW, ex c&w and one other before i could get all the channels.
