PS3 HD, What cable do i need to get High Def?

Hi, ive just bought a ps3, without any HD cable.


My tele doesnt seem to have a HD input, that will let me plug the original PS3 HDMI cable into it, like the one below

But i tihnk the tele does allow some kind of HD because i had a xbox 360 a few months back, and i had a different kind of HD lead which i got with it (pic below) which plugged into the "Component input" sockets on the bakc of my tv, and then the xbox 360 worked in high definition. Or i think it was in HD because it was alot clearer.

So what im struggling to understand is, will only xbox 360's work in HD on my tv? Because the cable in the pic above, obviously the main bit is for an xbox 360 and wouldnt plug into my ps3.

What TV do you have (make and model) as it may be be true HD.

it definitely looked like HD with the xbox it was alot clearer with the microsoft HDMI cable

Hi,

I think that that is the old plasma one which isnt true HD.

However, if you using component connections and comparing it against scart then thats prob the differance your seeing. Component is better.

Have a look at the link below. Its the PS3 HDMI to component so should be the same as for your Xbox. Have a look around though, you might find it cheaper.
