Ok here's the deal, im getting sky and want to know the cheapest way to do a multi room set up.
What i mean is i dont mind paying for 1 extra room but 3 is quite expensive. Can i receive anything else with the sky dish if i buy another receiver, like freesat or anything that could keep the kids happy in the other rooms.

Ok what Id do in your situation is put full Sky multiroom into the main secondary room, then buy a couple of Freesat boxes and stick them in the two lesser rooms.

Or go down the local boot sale and buy two second hand sky boxes - even without cards in them you will get all the free channels and you can buy 20 quid freesatfromsky cards to give you half a dozen extra free but scrambled channels

You can get multiple output lnb's:

Quad lnb's - 4 outputs

Octo lnb's - 8 outputs.

A pvr will take 2 outputs, a "normal" single tuner box takes one. So a quad will allow up to 1 twin tuner pvr PLUS 2 single tuner boxes, or 4 single tuners.

An octo will allow any combination up to 8 outputs so you could do 2 twin tuner pvrs PLUS 4 single tuner boxes etc.

Stick an octo lnb on. I've got sky+ and another four receivers running off the sky dish.

hello again a/s, been looking at the sky prices online, (just in case n3 isnt hacked) but am a bit confused by the multitude of them all. if i added a box in my bedroom, if its hd, am i correct in saying it would cost an extra tenna for the multiroom charge AND another extra tenna for having hd PER ROOM.
