Default Free HD box and Router

Ok, so about a month ago, a VM engineer came and setup my HD box (which I didn't order) and changed my Modem to another one and gave me a free HDMI cable and router.
I accepted this because I was due for a free router, and he said I gotta give you these aswell because your tv and Internet doesn't show up on the system because it is branded as NTL.
I thought fair enough, he knows what he's doing.
But some way through the internet activation I saw it came up with someone else surname, so I told and he said "Ahh f it" and got out of the door ASAP.
So a month later and the Internet and tv stop working, should I keep the box and flash the card and Internet or ring them up and tell them because he took our original modem and tv box which was registered to my name.

By all means have a go , But as you stated the tv has stopped working ?? Did you mean all subcription channels are now blank ? Chances are the card has taken the dreaded 6D 56 bk hit. Unless you already have an unlooper i wouldn't go wasting your money.

I duno but there were letters instead of numbers on the tv HD box. All the subscription channels are gone, before that it was a XL package, we already pay for XL but we never got it our old box. What if I need vm to come to my house and they see no subbed modem or subbed tv box, how do I explain where they went. As far as they know I have a old modem and a samsung 2110C
