Default Why use freeview on cable?

1) First of all, you're putting the box to some use
2) The signal is digital, so won't be affected by the switchover
3) For those with indoor aerials, the signal is better
4) The line coming through is made of quality wf100 cable, not the rubbish old wire they have for normal freeview, so Id even go as far as saying they're future proof freeview receivers if we ever cant watch TV without quality cable in the future(and in the exchange its fibre optic)
5) Third party receivers generally look better than official(and most of the time, outdated) VM equipment

Cant think of any more, but feel free to add your own comments

What do you mean by using freeview on cable?

Can you plug your cable feed into a freeview box?
