Decided to buy a ex5100 for upstairs. Already have the HD 7000 in the living room which works flawlessly. However upon scanning for channels once out of the box i find all the channels but they are all scrambled. I can receive the terrestrial channels as per normal but not the others, well they are there just not viewable.
I have bought 3 boxes now from the same quality source and this latest one is only one with the problem. First box ever bought was for my son which was also the ex5100. This new one does not work at his home either, his still does. Any help on this matter greatly appreciated. |

An update.
My bad for not realising that the box i bought from Lincsat was not updated with any new firmware. Just the FTA channels. I only use a mac so i started to look into ways to do it myself. Downloaded the toolbar and the relevant files but really wanted to it on pc so dug out the desktop today running windows 7 64 bit. Got the drivers for the usb to serial cable and also found that i already had the null modem cable. Bonus. Extremely easy to do. |
