My mate as given me is hard drive from is Eurovox. Its a WD scorpio 120gb for a Eurovox but it won't fit in mine, I have tried pushing it in but it won't go in any further.
But i have noticed my box is a Eurovox EX5000 pvr and his Eurovox is a EX5100 pvr? Is this why? But i heard hard drives will fit in them all and the boxes are exactly the same apart from this number on the front of the boxes (5000pvr/5100 pvr) Any one know why the hard drive won't fit in my box? I don't want to force it any harder cause i don't want to break it cheers Last edited by Eagles; 08-12-09 at 09:38 PM. |

I have also noticed the pins on the hardrive are different to the pins in the slot in the front of my ex5000 pvr.
The one in my eurovox is just a straight 2 row of pins. But on the hardrive their is a straight row of pins but then a little gap and 4 more pins. I want to get some programs recorded before Nag 3 comes in, So i can watch them untill the a firmware comes out for it. ( i know ppl say that will never happen but i have faith, There will always be a way to hack might take a year might take 6, But i know it will be done again. I remember back in the late nintees/2000 when the chip boxes went and people were saying that is the end of free cable but then a few years later they poped up again. With people using german boxes and things...) Anyway does anyone know if an hardrive from a ex5100pvr fit a ex5000pvr. The way it slots into the ex5100 is with the green side down and the metal casing with the white label at the top. But it won't fit into my ex5000 that way around but it will slot in further with the metal casing faced down and the green circuit of the hard drive on top? But i still dont think it is in right, because it does not click in like on the ex5100 and make a loading noise. And when i try to record it says no hardrive installed or hardrive is full. I can post a picture and more details if that helps. It as alot of writing on the hardrive i have in my hand but on the top it says Quote:
Thanks in advance

Nevermind, a mod can close this thread i sorted it.
After checking the EX5100 pvr the slot was exactly the same as the slot on the EX5000 pvr so it was not that. But i noticed the slot on my EX5000 pvr was further back than on the front of the EX5100 pvr, So the hardrive would not push in all the way because the slot was too far back. So i screwed the Eurovox open and pushed the slot a bit more forward (towards me) and thats done the trick. The hardrive sloted in first time and i am currently recording a program. Woop even though it seems i can only use the Eurovox for a few more months im still happy.
