With the softmod, does that mean the unit is never opened and therefore will not void any warranty?

Default Re: Everything Wii UPDATED

Softmod for 4.2 ONLY if your wii has an older firmware use the guide above !!

1. Prepare SD card Included in the ZIP files are 4 directorys

a) SD (everything in here goes in the root of the SD card
b) PC (Nus Downloader for use with PC)
c) cboot2download (saves the need to download it)
d) NEW (this is updated files and will be used at the end)

Goto the PC folder and Run NUS Downloader v1.2 Once it's open click
generate certificates (pink box in the middle)

Now click database/iso and select IOS249 (v65280) See below pic 1

Pic 1.

Below is an image showing the loaded ISO make sure the green bits are the same as yours then click Start NUS Download..

Pic 2.

Once done you will find a folder on your pc called “00000001000000F9v65280”, open it and copy the ISO249.wad to the "SD\WAD then close NUS Downloader
Now copy everything from SD folder to the root of your SD card, which is now ready to rock...

2. USING BANNERBOMB TO START HACKMII INSTALLER

a) Switch on the wii
b) Goto the SD menu (The small SD Card picture bottom left)
c) Stick the SD card in the slot
d) Bannerbomb should now load and ask if you want to load boot.dol or .elf
e) Click yes

Leave it to do it's thing then you will get HACKMII INSTALLER MENU, It will also tell you if you can install BOOTMII as boot2 or IOS (remember this)

Install Homebrew channel (known as HBC)
Install Bootmii (as ISO or Boot2 depending on what you was told above
Install DVDX (optional this is for playing DVD's direct from the Wii)

Once you are done , select EXIT , to exit the installer, you will now be in THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL, if at this point your Wii freezes (not uncommon) then simply keep your hand on the power button, on the Wii for a few seconds, then once it switches off, switch it back on and select THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL from the main Wii menu.

Now for bootmii

1- Take the SD Card out of the Wii & Put back in the PC
2- Move the entire “BOOTMII” folder from the SD card into the “NEW” Folder
3- Make sure the BOOTMII folder is deleted from the SD Card
4- Copy the contents of “cBoot2Download” to the ROOT of your SD Card
5- Rename “boot.elf” to “boothackmii.elf” (on the SD Card)
6- Rename “boot_wadmanager.dol” to “boot.dol” (on the SD Card)
7- Switch off the Wii (we will be back to it shortly)

REMOVE IOS249 STUB WITH WAD MANAGER AND CBOOT2
Now that we have cBoot2 on the SD Card we are ready to delete the IOS249 stub from the Wii so we can install cIOS (Custom IOS)

1- Put Your SD Card back into the Wii
2- Switch The Wii On
3- Select HBC from the Wii Menu (Remember HBC = Homebrew Channel (Last reminder!))
4- Click Start so HBC runs (ANY POINT DURING THIS GUIDE IF IT ASKS TO UPDATE SELECT NO)
5- Now Press The HOME button on your Wiimote
6- Select Launch Bootmii

Now cBoot2 will start , in some cases it messes up the screen big time, don’t worry though it will be OK in A few seconds you should see A Wad Manager 1.4 screen
1- PRESS A TO CONTINUE
2- CHOOSE < WII SD SLOT>
3- HIGHLIGHT IOS249.wad
4- PRESS A TO CONTINUE
5- PRESS < ON YOUR WIIMOTE SO THE SELECTION CHANGES TO UNINSTALL WAD
6- PRESS A TO CONTINUE & UNINSTALL THE WAD
7- WHEN ITS DONE PRESS HOME TO RETURN TO YOUR WII SYSTEM MENU
Now that we have moved the IOS249 stub (The 4.2 protection to stop things running) we can move forward to install CIOS38 rev 14.

DOP-ISO

1- START HBC AND LOAD DOP-IOS
2- PRESS RIGHT UNTIL YOU SEE IOS53
3- PRESS A TO SELECT YES TO INSTALL AND SIG HASH CHECK
4- WHEN INSTALLED EXIT BACK TO HBC (Don’t worry about the 1 error if any)
5- LOAD DOP-IOS AGAIN
6- PRESS RIGHT UNTIL YOU SEE IOS55
7- PRESS A TO SELECT YES TO INSTALL AND SIG HASH CHECK
8- WHEN INSTALLED EXIT BACK TO HBC (Don’t worry about the 1 error if any)
9- LOAD DOP-IOS FOR A 3RD AND FINAL TIME
10- PRESS RIGHT UNTIL YOU SEE IOS70
11- PRESS A TO SELECT YES TO INSTALL AND SIG HASH CHECK
12- WHEN INSTALLED EXIT BACK TO HBC (Don’t worry about the 1 error if any)

INSTALLING CIOS38 REV 14

1- PUT THE SD CARD BACK IN YOUR PC
2- RENAME “boot.dol” to “boot_wadmanager.dol” (On The SD Card)
3- RENAME “cIOS38_rev14_Installer.dol” to “boot.dol” (On The SD Card)
4- NOW PUT SD CARD BACK IN THE WII
5- GO INTO HBC AND PRESS HOME
6- SELECT LAUNCH BOOTMII (SCREEN MAY GO FUNNY FOR A BIT , IGNORE IT & WAIT)
7- CHOOSE “Do Not Reload IOS” AT THE IOS SELECT SCREEN
8- PRESS A TO CONTINUE
9- CHOOSE “Network Install” AT THE NEXT SCREEN
The installer will now download and install some files.

Once all thats done your finished HBC and latest CISO

Default Re: Everything Wii UPDATED

WiiFlow USB Loader

1.1 Installation of WiiFlow
-------------------------------
You can either install WiiFlow to a SD-Card or on your Harddisk. Both types has
advantages and disadvantages: If you install on a SD-Card you will need the
SD-Card to operate with WiiFlow. You should always let the SD-Card inside your
Wii and should not write-protect it. Otherwise WiiFlow will not work properly.
It is better to install WiiFlow on your Harddisk but you will need a FAT
partition for it and a second WBFS partition for your Wii-Games. If you have a
WBFS only Harddisk, you need to repartition it. That will delete all of your
Wii-Games on it. So I'll explain both types now:

1.2 Installation of WiiFlow on SD-Card
------------------------------------------
Just copy the content of the archive to the Root of your SD-Card. You should
get the following Path:
SD:\wiiflow\language.ini
WiiFlow will save all settings and files into the directory SD:\wiiflow\.
Exception: If you connect a harddisk with a FAT- and a WBFS-Partition, WiiFlow
will save its files to the FAT-Partition. To avoid this, you should open the
file SD:\wiiflow\wiiflow.ini and add the entry "data_on_usb=no" in the category
[GENERAL]. WiiFlow will ignore FAT-Partitions then. If wiiflow.ini isn't there,
copy the one that has been created on the HDD.

1.3 Installation of WiiFlow on Harddisk
-------------------------------------------
It is necessary to split your Harddisk into at least two partitions to install
WiiFlow on it. One is the WBFS-partition which contains all Wii-Games
and the other is a FAT16- or FAT32-partition and contains the WiiFlow-data.
(If you already have a single WBFS-partition on your harddisk, you need to
reformat it into two parts. You will lose all installed games then).
If you got this, you can just copy the content of the archive to your external
harddisk. You should get the following path:
USB:\wiiflow\language.ini
WiiFlow will save all settings and files into the directory USB:\wiiflow\.
Exception: If you put a SD-Card with the entry "data_on_usb=no" in wiiflow.ini
into your Wii, WiiFlow will use the SD-Folder instead of your harddisk.

1.4 Starting WiiFlow
----------------------
You can start WiiFlow by executing the boot.dol from the archive. WiiFlow will
start from everywhere. It doesn't care about the current directory. It will
work inside the directory you've installed it (SD:\wiiflow or USB:\wiiflow).
But I will explain some options to start WiiFlow:
1.4.1) Starting WiiFlow via Homebrew-Channel
You need to save the file "boot.dol" into the directory SD:\apps\wiiflow\ that
the Homebrew-Channel can find it. The files meta.xml and icon.png belongs to
that directory too, but they are not necessary for the execution.
1.4.2) Starting WiiFlow through a WiiFlow-Channel
If you have a WiiFlow-Channel (not a forwarder) the boot.dol is already inside
it and will be launched there. There is no need to save it anywhere else.
You can install such a channel with help of a WAD-Manager.
1.4.3) Starting WiiFlow through a Forwarder-Channel
A forwarder is a channel which executes a specific file in a specific directory.
So you may need to rename the boot.dol and place it on that directory where the
forwarder can find it. Ask the author of the forwarder which file it will start
