Default Freesat problems

Hi, newbie here.
I've got a freesat system hooked up to 4 rooms (4 way LNB). In the main room I've lost half of the channels and it says I've got no signal - surely I would have no channels?
In my daughters room her box is also coming up with the "no signal message".
We've had the guy out who put the dish up and he's blaming the boxes - anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

hector

Yes, change the LNB for a different make, like a WNC one.

It's only been installed about 6 months!
Could the dish not have moved slightly (although the "half channels still there" applies).
I'm not sure what is fitted now. I'll have to take a look tomorrow. Are them LNBs much better?

Possible, but the installer would have checked that out, wouldn't he?

The LNBs are roughly the same quality, but some work better with some freesat boxes than others.

Hi Hector, Please have a look and see which polarisation the channels you have lost are and what the ones you still have are, if you have lost only H or V channels then it is most likely your LNB. If you have a mixture of both V and H working/ not working channels then the LNB would seem to be the cause of your problem. It might be the case that some of the kids have been playing with the box settings and have switched the LNB switching of, in which case you would have just the one polarisation working for you, never know it might have happened. There is a chance that your dish might have moved and you are just getting the channels with the strongest signals. I do not think that your two boxes will have started to act up at the same time, but it can't be ruled out either, you have not said what boxes you are using.

Regards Wez

Ahh, I assumed that they were Freesat boxes, as that is what was posted by the OP.

If they are not Freesat boxes, then it could be the dish.
