Hi I purposely bought this box because of it's PVR function. The HDD was installed by the supplier and everything seemed to be working fine. The problem I have is once the box has been powered up for more than 24hrs, it takes longer and longer to start from standby mode and all the functions including the operation of the PVR are extremely slow. The only way I have managed to get around this is by unplugging the box over night and plugging it back in the next day. This does the job for the next 24hrs but all my recordings on the PVR have been lost each time I do this.
Any advice would appreciated, thanks. |

I also have the same issue, and I just turn my pvr5100 off and back on again and then its fine, first of all I thought its because I formatted the hard drive in NTFS as it does work but the box perfers FAT 32, I know I not helping but you dont need to leave it off over night just a simple off and back on again by the switch and its fine, I tend to do it once a day.
I know when its starting to play up as it takes longer to start recording I am wondering if its the firmware, hopefully someone will have the answer. |

Thanks for that at least it's not just me. I am still trying to find a solution. A factory reset has been suggested but not sure that will help. I will try it alll the same. Bit p***ed off really as I paid the extra for the PVR facility and basically it is useless. If I do get it to record when ever I turn it off everything disappears!
Will keep you posted.

Excellent
I read so much about how Eurovox is better than Starview and I agree in some parts, so I bought a Eurovox instead of a starview, but no way the recording part starview wins hands down on the way it records and plays back, Eurovox doesnt even remember where I stopped watching. |

Hi, have had a few ideas thrown at me so decided to go for the easiest option first and work from there. Anyway it has done the job so far. Basically I switch the box off and on at the wall for a few seconds each day and everything seems to operate fine, PVR function and all recordings still on HDD. It seems that the box slows down and the recordings disappear over night which maybe linked to the EPG updating at midnight, which was suggested by someone. As soon as I turn on and off the box speeds up and recordings are back! Weird but does the job just hope a firmware update can sort this soon no hardship just a bit of a pain.
Thanks to you all. |
