i have recently canceled my basic tv phone n bb with virgin as im going with sky im just wanting to know if i will recive freeview chanels like sky news n that on the box? thanks

yes mate u will still get fta channels

Not meaning to be funny, but I do wish that people would use the correct terminology when referring to these things.

(1) Freeview is a terrestrial service, the signal coming through your TV aerial.

(2) FTA are channels which are not encrypted and are on satellite or cable.

(3) FTV are those channels which are from Sly, you need a Sly card to receive them, but they are free apart from that.

(4) Freesat, on the other hand, is a service using the Astra 2 group of satellite at 28E and is free, there are dedicated receivers for freesat, but they can be received on any FTA receiver, some are no good for ITV 1 HD. Sly call their FTV channels freesat from Sly, which is confusing to say the least
