Good cable guy needed

Been having problems with my sammy 2110 for a while now,at mine I get most channels but a few I dont such as skysports 1 (any football fans will understand my dismay!)
Any way just down the road at my missus mums house the box works fine(all channels)
Was advised to check the signal strenght and found it was rather low about 27.5 decibels so bought a signal strength amplifier which I recieved today,plugged it in and now I have a few more channels and oodles of signal to the ones I've got (47.5!) however STILL NO SKY SPORTS 1
checked the signal strength on this channel and its at -1 db!????
and the others that dont work display the same signal drop????
so how is it that I have loads on some channels and none on others!please someone enlighten me!tried everything else till my brain turns off!

u tried to rewrite ur card mate and checked urs dates on it

yer got a card reader and unlooper,last time tried to read it but needed unlooping first so ordered one of them but was kinda hoping i wouldn't have to go through all that!(never done it before!)and am using usb to serial adaptor which to my knowledge(or some elses on here actually!) will not worka nd it needs to be a true com port?plus why would it work down the road and not here :-(!
how do I check the dates?is that a common problem?thanks for your reply btw

Go into the engineers menu, hold up and down buttons in and power on till LD14 on display then wait for diag, go through the pages on screen if attenuation is set high change to low using left-right-up-down and ok, then go through to the scan page and let it scan, hopefully it will solve your problem
