Sky + box query?

Hi,

If this query has already been answered then im sorry in advance for posting again, however i used to have a sky subscription but ever since ive terminataed my contract with them ive been allowed to keep the equiptment and still receive quite a few freeview channels.....i was wondering as im happy with the channels im receiving for free is that if i was to buy a sky plus box from eb*y will i be able to use the recording functions even though im not a subscriber to sky?

if the answer is yes, do i set up the plus box as the one ive already got and thats it? or is it a little bit complicated as there may be some codes etccc to do before i get tooo happy!?

Afraid not, I think it's a tenner a month for the recording features.
