Default LNB compatibility

Hi I am peter rutt and a new member and new to forums. The question I would like to pose is this. I have a sky mini dish with a single lnb giving near perfect reception on all channels, I attempted to employ a quad lnb a wistron so that I could feed two rooms. With this set up I can only receive bbc parliament and a few other minor channels. Does this indicate incompatibility of mini dish and the quad lnb and if so can this be overcome?

Hi Peter, no it does not indicate incompatibility, assuming that the LNB you have bought is for a minidish, and has the correct fittings to match the LNB arm, i.e you have fitted it on correctly.

It could be that you have not adjusted the Skew optimally, although it mostly doesn't make a drastic difference.

It could be that the dish was badly adjusted before, and the extra weight of the quad has pulled the dish down enough to cause the problem

It could be, both of the above.

It could be that the LNB is faulty.

It could be a very bad connection at the LNB.

Default Re: LNB compatibility

Robbo is right the extra weight pulls the LNB arm down and your dish need to be tilted up a wee bit to compensate for it.
