Default Eurovox & foreign channels, football related

Hi All

Newbie so please bare with me...

Im thinking of getting either the ex1100 or ex6000 very shortly, but was just wondering as the Eurovox's receive their signal from virgin rather than sky, are they still able to receive any forgein sports channels such as Fox Sports + etc once the firmware is on, or are those channels limited to satellite boxes?

The reason I ask is im sick of the rubbish quality online streaming, and just want to be able to watch every Manchester United game on tv. (Sorry to any non man u fans - lets not go there)

PS. I would have asked lincsat but ive bothered him enough this week via email !!

cheers

Mike

You are aware of the new encryption vm are rolling out aren't you? all boxes wil be useless when that goes country wide. The only channels these boxes will get when the encryption changes are 1234 and 5 and maybe a couple of others. As for those channels you are on about I dont get them on mine I do get ESPN america but that seems to be the only foreign one.

no m8 you wont get fox sports from a eurovox and very soon you will get nothing at all as its going to nag 3 save your money on a cable box
look in the sat section if you want footy games for more info

Cheers for that lads, i didnt understand the threads about nag3 therefore didnt know the impending doom for the boxes

so for foreign channels, satellite ie. sky is the only option? I notice a lot of pubs with Canal+ which they must legally subscribe to, I wouldnt even mind doing that, but again I think its satellite only

Many thanks.

VM don't broadcast any programs from foreign providers at all, so N3 isn't your issue, it's the fact that the signals you want arent their. Nag3 has nothing to do with that. You will need sat equipment to watch forign broadcasts.

As Martin-f says, head over to the sat section and have a read of the guides and sticky threads at the top of each section.

Hi rick

thanks for that, yeah someone else mentioned the boxes would be useless anyway soon after n3, thats where that came from

my own point was the foreign channels and whether they were only satellite broadcasts, which you have all confirmed, thank you for that

i dont really want to bother changing to sky, freesat etc, as everything is with VM at the moment, (internet, broadband, phone) and sky cant match virgins internet at all, plus even the basic satellite set up is very costly.

i guess its going to have to be the pub more often ! lol

cheers all for your help, and good luck to those of you that have already paid for eurovoxes, hope someone works something out if you get me
