will this work ok? i bought it from amazon as it says it is recordable

It is a PVR box but you will need to install an IDE hdd in it if you wish to record programs. I have a clone dm600s and a genuine dm600C and they both work great . You should look into getting a Null modem cable with it as you will need one at some stage to flash an image on it if things go wrong.
