Hello,

A friend was having problems with her eurovox max box - said it was asking her for a code. I told her I'd take a look at it (was planning to just reflash it).

I took the box home and it won't even turn on? wtf has happened? I've tried googling it and it appears to be a common occurrence but all the posts are from 2006 - I was wondering if there was a solution to this?

JTAG it.

If it won't turn on Check the C14 cap on the PSU board first

C14 cap looks fine...

Here's a pic incase I'm looking at it wrong

Does JTAG'ing involve getting another cable or can I do it with the RS cable? I'm just confused as to why this happened - does it often occur?

j tag involves a bit of soldering mate, a bit tricky by all accounts.....
