Just done a speed test on speedtest.com and it says my upload is 0.12mbps!!!

and download is 0.25mbps

how can this be ??

it doesnt seem slow but it aint super quick is there anyway of telling how fast it really is or making it faster ?

lol. nice speed. are you using server on other side of the world? speedtest.net. try picking one in the uk.
the way i get my true download speed is i pick a fast server and wget a large file.
like
$wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/gentoo/rel...l-20091203.iso

12% [==================> ] 15,119,696 335K/s eta 5m 19s ^

not perfect but a good guide to real download speed

Most routers should tell you the number of packets/bytes transferred over the WAN port. Just reset it to 0 and then do a timed download.

Or if you use newsgroup do a download on there and it will show your max download speed.
